Student & Instructor
I started my Taekwondo training in 2017 as a 5-year-old. 9 years later, I’m a student instructor at my Dojang and preparing to test for my 3rd Dan degree next summer. Martial arts has taught me discipline, respect, and the importance of consistent training. As an instructor, watching students gain confidence and improve over time has been extremely fulfilling.
This Fall, I’ll be taking my Taekwondo experience to another exciting level. I will be teaching basic Taekwondo moves to seniors at a local Parkinson’s Support Group on a weekly basis. I am very excited about this opportunity. Research has shown that neuromuscular intervention such as basic martial arts training can significantly improve mobility, balance, and cognitive performance in individuals with Parkinson’s or Traumatic Brain Injury. I’m looking forward to testing and studying this theory.
