An accomplished pianist who has performed globally at prestigious venues and competition
I’ve attended highly selective music festivals and camps such as Piano Texas International Academy, Oberlin Summer Piano Festival, Cleveland Institute of Music Young Artist Piano Seminar, Chicago International Music Festival, and the Colburn-Tonebase Seminar, Piano Seminar where I was the sole winner of the Yamaha Scholarship.
In recent years I’ve performed multiple recitals at senior living centers and I love seeing how music provides comfort & connection to senior residents. After one particular recital, an elderly woman with a feeble voice requested an encore. That memory has stayed with me, especially because the woman sadly passed away a month later. And her mother’s daughter asked if I could play a piece by Chopin to honor her mother who, she said, had really enjoyed my recital. These experiences have made it clear to me that music can be research, just a means of entertainment. I’ve recently begun studying music cognition research and it is fascinating. My goal is to learn more about how music can be used as therapeutic tool for the elderly with neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
I started learning the piano when I was 8 years old. I had no musical background… neither did anyone else in my family. But with good teachers and many hours of daily practice, I progressed quickly. Over the years, I’ve been lucky to have performed at prestigious venues across the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, Curtis Institute of Music, Perugia, Italy, GC de Lijsterbes in Brussels, Van Cliburn Concert Hall in Fort Worth, Mixon Hall at Cleveland Institute of Music, and Ognisko Polskie in London. I made my orchestral debut as a soloist in Perugia, Italy, with the Europa Musica Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Marius Stravinsky in 2023. I’ve also been featured as a young virtuoso on Steinert & Sons’ Steinway Stories series.
